Virtuoso of the Portuguese guitar, Luís Guerreiro is currently one of the icons of contemporary Portuguese guitar players.
It was his father's influence that aroused his curiosity for this musical instrument and consequently for fado, receiving his first guitar at the age of 10 as a present from him. He then entered a music academy where he came to meet António Parreira, with whom he began to take private lessons.
Then came the opportunity to play at Forte Dom Rodrigo, initially as a guest, later replacing António Parreira whenever he was absent. And for three consecutive years Luís Guerreiro participated in competitions organized by the Academy of Portuguese Guitar. He played at some of Lisbon's main fado houses, including Adega Machado among others. More recently, he played for fadistas like Mariza, Camané, Katia Guerreiro, António Zambujo and Carminho becoming the main guitarist of Portuguese guitar.
Luís Guerreiro has played around the world with the biggest names of today’s fado and he is now ready to perform solo.
